A good friend of mine said something about having 11 different addresses in 14 years the other day. It got me thinking... and counting. Since the day I left for college, I have lived in 14 places in as many years. That's a lot of moving! I think I might average worse than some military families, and we're not military!
How does that even happen? How does a girl from small town South Dakota, who only wanted to stay put and have a big 'ol family of her own end up moving across the state... to Wyoming, back to South Dakota and end up in Iowa of all places? How? Well, long story short, love is a funny thing ;)
My husband's job has provided us with a lot of wonderful things. A roof over our heads, a full fridge (not an easy feat with 5 growing and hungry mouths), creature comforts and my personal favorite, being able to stay home and raise my babies! Stability... at least as far as staying in one place... though, has not been one of those things. But it's love... and I'd follow him to the ends of the earth.
So here we are, a week away from moving yet again. A move that we knew would be coming at least by next spring, but happened sooner rather than later. Our tiny rental (read: 3 bedroom, 1 bath... 2 adults, 5 kids and a giant lab) is packed from one end to the other with boxes, all in anticipation of having a space of our own once again.
I hate the process. The packing, the unpacking, the mess and the chaos, the lack of schedules and normalcy for my children, but I love what will come from it. A new space to decorate and make our own, lots of room to run and play and be us again. But right before Christmas... we must be crazy ;)

// My Love/Hate Relationship with Moving //
I am absolutely in love with our family pictures... Adara of Adara Photography in Sioux Falls took them, and they.are.amazing. As in, I will be traveling back home to schedule future family photo sessions with her and her alone, amazing.
I was so darn excited to hang them all up that I hadway too many the perfect amount of big beautiful prints made, only to find out we were being transferred. So for now they sit, waiting to be hung up in our new home... and let me tell you, as soon as the kids' beds are set up, these babies will be displayed in all their glory. For now, you can enjoy them here :)
